One new definition in the Dictionary
of Fortification covering the
basic technical
nomenclature of masonry arches has been added. Until I started
pressing to get this page done about five months ago I hadn't realized just
how long it is taking to run new material from inception to presentation.

May, 2007
Fortification Images coverage
of the
Railroad
Redoubt at Vicksburg has been supplemented with several new images, one
of which shows some of the damage caused by relic hunting vandals that occurred
several days before the site was re-photographed. Visitors to this website
are reminded that relic hunting on public property (state and federal) is
a very serious crime; messing up my photographs with the evidence of stupid
and inconsiderate behavior is really not very nice either.
